About a month and a half ago I wrapped up my sophomore year of college. Wow- that's all I can say. It truly was a rollercoaster of a year with friendships and relationships starting and ending and changing, facing new challenges, and having some of the best experiences of my life.

Last you heard from me was October. I didn't quite keep my promise to give a college update every month, oops. Well here is one big one to make up for lost time.

November:

In November I kept getting even closer with my roommates Cece and Katelyn, hung-out with friends everyday, went to a surprise party for my friend, and even started going on little coffee dates with someone new. Christmas came early in the dorm. We figured since the semester would be over mid-December, we should get to decorating early. We had two Christmas trees and a lot of lights as well as three little snowmen in the window representing the three of us. I performed at a showcase for the first time in over a year with dance club and had Friendsgiving with my friends. Eventually it was Thanksgiving break and we all headed home for a long weekend. I had good times with my family and of course went Black Friday shopping with two of my best friends from high school.

December:

In December, Christmas came to campus. Lights went up all over as well as a huge tree in the student center. Early in the month my roommates and I went to a party that we have deemed the most iconic of the year. My mom and I went to see Les Mis (our fav musical) and of course it was absolutely incredible. This was my first time seeing it live with a professional cast. When I returned to campus that night I was greeted by my roommates who wrapped all of my belongings and space in the dorm with Christmas wrapping paper. Beyond speechless in the best way. My friends and I took a trip into Minneapolis to go to the Holidazzle festival and of course went on the carousel, down the slide, and took pictures with Santa. That weekend was the end of the semester showcase for dance club and it was so amazing to perform again. I love the feeling and my team so much. The semester came to an end and I headed home for the holidays. I spent it with family and friends and brought in the new year with my brother and cousin and a music video watch party accompanied by sparkling grape juice.

January:

January starts out strong when the person I started going on coffee dates with in November became my boyfriend. Shortly after, I started the most incredible journey I've ever gone on. I had my first 3 classes for my study abroad trip for Trend Forecasting in Italy! The next 2 weeks I spent in Milan, Florence, and Rome. I had the time of my life, made such great friends, and learned and saw so much. Maybe I'll make a whole post dedicated to it. When I got home, I had a few days until I packed up and went back to school for second semester. I reunited with my friends and boyfriend and started classes.

February:

In February there were many celebrations and time to spend with my friends. We had game nights and I got matching forever bracelets with my friends. My cousins Ellie and I were the best tickets takers and stampers you've ever seen at hockey games. I had the best tacos of my life and spent a party telling white lies.

March:

March came along and the Minnesota weather gave us occasional teases of warmer weather. I spent time at a playground with my roommates and got pushed on a swing and went down a slide head first. Following that, of course we had to go thrifting, and later we proved we were all green flags. I went to breakfast with my dad and brother and spent the morning at the Mall of America and of course had to go on a couple rides in Nickelodeon Universe. Brady 200's pickle addiction grew and we spent St. Patrick's day with friends at the U. Our jigs were unmatched. Before I knew it, it was midterm and spring break. I hung out with high school friends and my family and took my boyfriend on a tour of my hometown. Once back at school, we wrapped up the month with a beach party which occurred during a blizzard.

April:

In April, I went to the zoo, I made my dad a birthday cake, and we celebrated Easter. The week following Easter was unseasonably warm for April with the temperature in the mid 80s, so of course shorts and skirts got to come out. We went on walks, sat on blankets in the quad doing homework, and played spike ball. I went to Hamilton with my family, which was of course amazing. First it was Cece's 20th birthday, then, I turned 20! I am so old now I cannot get over it. I spent more time with friends and went to the Super Mario Bros movie which was absolutely fantastic 10/10.

May:

May was the final 2 weeks of the school year. The weather was finally consistently warm so a lot of time was spent outside. Katelyn also turned 20! Katwalk, the fashion show I had helped work on all year finally came! I stage managed and the day came together perfectly. The designers were all so talented. The last week of school came, so slowly the dorm started getting emptied and packed up. We all had one final night together and then all headed home Sunday morning on Mother's Day. My boyfriend and I also mutually decided to break up before summer. I finished my finals strong and I am very proud of myself. Soon after moving home, I started working for the summer and that wrapped up my sophomore year of college.

This school year was a bumpy road for awhile, but writing this all up made me smile so much and made me remember how good life can be. At risk of sounding sappy, I truly have met some of the most amazing people who have impacted my life so much. In a couple months I'm moving off campus with my roommates into a house. I can't wait to take on year 3 with them.

I'm going to attempt to post more regularly this summer and bring you some fashion content next week.

Until then,

<3 Lainey
