I know all of my Life by Lainey enjoyers have been on the edge of their seats waiting for their favorite blogger to return from a nearly nine month hiatus. Well… drumroll please! I am so back.

So nine months later, what am I up to? I have answers for you!

After an amazing summer spent with friends and family I am going on year two living in a house with two of my best friends and I couldn’t be happier about it. Thinking about not living with Cecilia and Katelyn after May makes me ILL! I cannot fathom it. I currently have my cinnamon pumpkin muffin candle burning and our autumnal and Halloween decor is going to be rolling out very soon. Speaking of Halloween, our trio costume this year is going to be actually insane. We did not think we’d top being the Hocus Pocus witches, but this is going to be just as good. However, as of now, it is TOP SECRET. Reveal coming next month!

The big news of this post is that I’ve officially started my final semester of college. By the end of December (if all goes well) I will have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism! But fret not St. Thomas, you will not be rid of me yet. I will still be walking the graduation stage in May.

This semester my final four classes are French (after a four year break oops), Web Design, Journalism & Media Ethics and Magazine Writing. I’m feeling very excited about my courses this fall. I’ve been waiting all of college for Magazine Writing to be offered and I cannot even explain how thrilled I am to finally be taking it. I’m hoping the things I learn will help improve these blog posts.

Another exciting thing about this semester is that I have a job as a staff reporter for The Crest (formerly TommieMedia), the student-run news site on my campus. I have interned and earned credit in previous semesters, but I will be continuing to work in the newsroom and refine my interviewing, writing and editing skills. Last spring I wrote two fashion-related opinion pieces that were published. I will link them here as they pertain to the niche of this very blog.

Now knowing that I am done with school in less than four months, I’m sure many of you may be wondering: what’s next? Truth be told, I do not know yet. And there is something scary, yet beautiful about that. Hopefully by December’s edition of College Diaries, I will have an answer.

For now, we all know that fall is my all time favorite when it comes to fashion and I intend to make as much content as I can to celebrate the chic and effortlessly cool autumnal season.
