College Diaries #1: transferred!

So it has officially been one month since moving to my new college, and I'm finally getting in the groove of things. I've decided that the first Monday of every month I'll do a little life check-in about my time at school. I'll share my accomplishments, failures, goals, and everything in between. Without further ado, welcome to College Diaries entry #1!
Well, I guess I just have to start with my dorm room and my roommates.
Up until the beginning of August, I had no idea where I was living this year. Finally, I got an email saying that I would be living in a lounge room converted into a dorm room with two other girls. The three of us were all randomly assigned, but after just one month of living together they've become my closest friends here and I feel they'll have a place in my life forever.
P.S. our room is massive (and currently decorated for Halloween)!
Beyond my roommates, I've made some other incredible connections with people that I also feel are going to be lifelong friendships. We hangout all day, everyday.
Making the decision to transfer was not an easy one. My first year at college was not all I thought it would be, there were things I didn't like about the school and I knew I needed a fresh start, so transferring was definitely the right call. It was difficult to leave the comfort of familiarity at my old school as well as leaving my fashion major (not completely though) and the friends and professors I had. Even though I left, I still cherish my experience there and the connections I made. However, just in one month of being here, I've made more connections with people, am getting involved, and feel like I'm getting the college experience I always wanted.
I'm continuing my major in journalism and I'm working on creating a set of specialized courses out of fashion electives to essentially have a fashion minor. I'm also considering adding a strategic communications minor????
I like all my classes this semester so far. I'm taking philosophy, an English literature course, visual media theory class, and intercultural communications. They're definitely a challenge, but I'm up for it.
I've definitely been keeping busy since classes have started. Besides class, I'm also working as an Event Services assistant, joined my college's student publication (obviously), am on the board of the Fashion Association at my old college, and am in dance club. It's a lot, but it is all stuff I love doing. I don't have too much to say on those extracurriculars yet as they're just getting started, but by next month I'll definitely ramble on about them.
This month I'm looking forward to diving deeper into my activities, Halloween, and spending time with my friends. I'm going to try to stay caught up with school and not wear myself out too much.
I hope you enjoyed the little life update; I'll be back in a month for another one. In the meantime, I'll be supplying some incredible fall fashion content this month for you guys, so keep an eye out for it!
