Now that we are a week from Christmas for those who celebrate, I thought I'd post some holiday content to bring Christmas cheer.

I loved putting together the Guidebook to being the 'It Girl' at Thanksgiving last month, so for December and the holiday season, I've now made the Guidebook for having a 'Cool Girl' Christmas.

Once again, this is a guidebook for me to be extra and go above and beyond on my holiday looks. I have a lot of seasonal events quickly approching from seeing The Nutcracker to family Christmas parties, so I'll be listing out plenty of options in this post and giving the highlights to guide your holiday season.

Outfits:

I put together 9 outfits in three different aesthetic groupings for this segment: 'Sleek & Christmas Chic,' 'Winter Wonderland Princess,' and the 'It Girl of the North Pole.'

I. Sleek & Christmas Chic

The Sleek & Christmas Chic person is someone who goes for the simple silhouette and festive colors, but spices it up with their personal edge. This could be a scarf, hair accessory, or a leather jacket. No matter what, they are the talk of the day looking so effortlessly put together.

II. Winter Wonderland Princess

The Winter Wonderland Princess is shimmering with femininity. They like to dress up their outfits with lace, bows, and all sorts of glitz and glam. They won't be seen without their heels and glitter on their eyelids. When they walk through the door, your eyes are immediatly glued to them.

III. It Girl of the North Pole

The It Girl of the North Pole is exactly what the title describes. They make a statement adding a little edge or quirk to the classic holiday look. Though they mix textures and color, their look is cohesive anyway. With a moody lip and a perfectly wrapped gift, they are the star of the show.

Makeup:

Like I noted in my Thanksgiving guidebook, not everyone enjoys wearing makeup, but if you do, I pulled some pictures off Pinterest of my favorite holiday makeup looks.

There is variety within these pictures of simpler looks to more statement. There is always the classic simple makeup with a bold red lip, a staple of the holidays. And there is also fun eye makeup to try with festive colors. I love the green eyeshadow look. I think it would be so fun to either add a pop of color to your look or to compliment your outfit. What I'll be rocking this holiday season is closer to the first image. I've been really into the light and shimmery eyes. I think this is so flattering on many different people. I'm planning to pair it with my classic darker red lipstick.

Pajamas:

Your Christmas jammies are your first outfit of the day. It's the present opening, coffee drinking, breakfast enjoying outfit, and in my case, the Annual Christmas Eve Sleepover outfit. That being said is all proof as to why fun and festive Christmas pjs are a must. I have classic plaid and wintery patterns paired with festive fuzzy socks. Not pictured above: my Santa hat!

The Season of Giving:

Whether you celebrate the holidays or not, this time of year is great for practicing gratitude before heading into the New Year. I have so much to be grateful for and I want to spend a lot of time with the people I love this holiday break.

I celebrate Christmas, so I've been gathering gifts for my loved ones over the last month. I love gift giving whether it is making something or buying something. If money wasn't a concern, I'd definitely spoil everyone. I thought about making a Gift Guide, but I think that would give too many hints to my readers who are receiving gifts from me this year.

As I wrap up this post and 2023, enjoy your relief from finals, break from school, or overall holiday season. I'm taking a break from posting next week, but I'll be back in 2024 with more classic Life by Lainey content.

Until the New Year, have a holly jolly holiday!
